Intro
WP Tavern is a blog that covers many aspects of the WordPress community: from WordPress Meetups to theme development to plugins. The blog started in 2007 and has been making daily posts since then. WP Tavern also hosts its own WordPress weekly podcast named “WordPress Weekly”. Authors include Sarah Gooding and Jeff Chandler. Both authors have plenty of experience working in WordPress and alongside its community, which is very important when writing a blog about the very subject.

The latest ramblings
Having kept an eye on the blog for six months, WP Tavern is focused on just that, WordPress news. The latest news is mainly about WordPress meetups, themes, plugins and Automattic. Posts are short and to the point, which, along with the authors’ years of experience, is one of my favorite parts of WP Tavern. You should add this blog to your RSS Feed if you are a Web Developer/Designer.
The gathering
WordCamps, or WordPress Meetups, happen. That’s okay, because you can learn a lot from attending one, from what I have heard. WP Tavern keeps track of the biggest and latest WordPress related events around the world. In fact, with the growing popularity of WordPress, there is a not-so-surprising turnout at various events. When I interviewed one of the primary organizers of the event Joe Rozsa, he said the event was difficult to put together despite it being the second event he’s organized. A large amount of ticket sales near the time of the event added complexity but the team was able to overcome the challenge and maintain a smooth running WordCamp.
